History

For the better part of the last decade, the Meridian Integrations team worked as a division of ABCO Fire Protection, a premier northeast Ohio Fire Protection Company under the ownership of Robert Titmas, Jr

In early 2008, Meridian team members approached Mr. Titmas with some ideas.  How can we broaden the function and reach of the business’ engineering side?  Could these ABCO design and product specialty teams market their services to the broader business and contracting community?

The need was there; demand and a niche market clearly existed.  The team regularly fielded calls from outside companies seeking the solutions it provided – solutions that required design and product expertise and responsiveness, but not at the level or cost of an architectural or engineering firm.

As ABCO’s Meridian division began providing its design and engineering services to outside businesses, the Meridian team and ABCO realized that because their respective missions were different, and didn’t mix particularly well, Meridian couldn’t function properly while operating as part of a fire protection service company.  Meridian’s mission was about system’s design, engineering, and implementation.

After two years, the solution was clear.  For the concept to work, Meridian would establish its own, separate enterprise.  The new and separate company’s goal?  To integrate  with other companies, from electrical contractors to mechanical contractors, and even other fire protection companies, and actively contribute to their success.  Meridian was born.
