You pay to have your fire extinguishers serviced on a regular basis. The value of extinguishers in preventing injuries and minimizing damage depends on how proficient employees are in their use. Business fire safety training and fire extinguisher training is important. According to OSHA Federal Guidelines, all employees must be trained in fire extinguisher use and safety procedures upon employment, and annually thereafter. Many insurance companies also require that employees be trained. To keep our clients safe and compliant Meridian offers a variety of certified, professional fire safety training programs and fire training resources.
Classroom Fire Training
Classroom fire safety presentation (for up to 50 students) includes a 22-minute video or power point presentation, verbal instruction by a certified instructor, a question and answer session, full color handouts, and fire-training certificates. Each student experiences “hands-on” extinguisher operation.
Live Fire Training
This session includes hands-on fire extinguisher training in combating a real Class B fire. We provide instructional pamphlet, pre-briefing and instruction by a certified fire safety instructor, and fire training certificates. Each student operates an extinguisher and extinguishes a live fire. (Class size: up to 50 students.)
Classroom and Live Fire Training
This session combines both the classroom and live fire training sessions and a certificate is issued for both the classroom and live burn segments.
Contract Fire Training
This session includes classroom and live burn fire training, permits, handouts, certificates, and fire extinguisher use for up to 25 people. The contract is for 2 years, one training session per year.
This is an in-depth 9-hour course that certifies the student as a fire instructor for three years. The session includes lesson plans, classroom, hands-on training, evaluations, and lunch. (Class size: limited to 8 students.)
